He writes:
“When I was 23 in 1975 I worked for two years as a volunteer in Sicily with anti-Mafia activist Danilo Dolci who had just set up a new school based on dialogue and non-violence.
Johan Galtung was one of the determined supporters of Dolci and a frequent visitor to Partinico and Trappeto to talk about a new peace education for a new cooperative world was .
As usual, Galtung provoked us to think out of the box as for him real thinking was necessarily original thinking, all else was lazy thinking and more of the same that produces the same results.
Through Galtung I learned to take the long broad view and to connect together peace, development and education and the best way for us to learn to live together in the world full of diversity is to learn from each other.”
